Our Process

We start with a quick phone call to hear about your project: what you're hoping for, where the site is, and roughly what you have in mind. If it sounds like a fit, we schedule an on-site consultation. We walk the property together, talk through what's possible, and get a real feel for the space and what you're after. The consultation is a flat $150, credited toward your project if you decide to move forward. From there, we put together a design fee proposal tailored to your space.

The first phase is site analysis and concept design, and we do them in that order for a reason. We begin with detailed measurements and a careful read of the site — its topography, drainage, soils, sun, and existing plants. A concept that ignores how water moves across a site might look good on paper, but it won't hold up once it's built.

The rendered concept drawing shows the vision for your space, along with inspiration images and a proposed direction for plants and materials. We present the ideas, talk budget, and decide on next steps. Depending on the size and complexity of the site, this phase typically runs $2,000-4,000.

Once we've landed on a design, we develop the construction documents (the drawings a landscape contractor needs to actually build it). Depending on the project, that can include a demolition plan, site plan, planting plan, irrigation plan, and a 3D model, all designed for New Mexico's climate, soils, and water.

A full design package, concept plan through construction documents, typically starts around $7,500 depending on scope. If you'd like to talk it through, get in touch.
